2021-2025 Achievements

Chloe Hutchison – Building a stronger Hudson, Together

Over the past term, we have strengthened Hudson through steady leadership, thoughtful planning, and open communication. We guided the town through transitions with clear governance, maintained fiscal responsibility with stable taxes, and ensured residents’ voices shape every decision.

We have championed smart, balanced development, aligning new projects with Hudson’s character while protecting natural spaces and preserving the town’s charm. Our first Conservation and Action Plan for the entire territory of Hudson identified key ecological corridors and enabled to present you with the opportunity to acquire the Sandy Beach site for public access and biodiversity, while dedicated staff and committees continue to safeguard our natural heritage.

Our community thrives through programs, public spaces, and cultural initiatives that bring seniors, youth, families, and Indigenous neighbours together. We have improved mobility, upgraded 15.2 km of roads, invested in parks, trails, and recreational facilities, and continue to explore ways to expand our trail network.

Hudson’s voice resonates beyond our borders, through regional advocacy, board participation, and strategic partnerships, bringing back resources, recognition, and tangible benefits for our residents.

With these foundations, we remain focused on what matters most: a town that is welcoming, vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive—a Hudson where every resident belongs, contributes, and thrives.

STRONG FOUNDATIONS & clear LEADERSHIP

 Reliable, transparent, and community-focused leadership.

  • Clear and decisive leadership: guiding Hudson with a coherent vision while ensuring stable taxation
  • Proactive communication with residents: regular newsletters, detailed updates, open public meetings, and clear information sharing
  • Structured citizen engagement: consultations and dialogues with residents to ensure Council decisions reflect community needs, priorities, and aspirations, fostering active and informed participation
  • Strengthening trust and transparency: adoption of open and responsible governance practices, rigorous follow-up on files, and public dissemination of results

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP & THOUGHTFUL RE-DEVELOPMENT

Protecting the environment and preserving Hudson’s character.

  • Adoption of the first Conservation and Action Plan to protect natural areas and habitats
  • Acquisition of strategic natural areas, including Sandy Beach (~$9.65M), to ensure conservation, resolve longstanding legal disputes, and guarantee permanent public access
  • Re-establishment of the Environment Committee and assignment of dedicated staff to oversee ecological stewardship
  • Guidance of land-use decisions in alignment with Hudson’s character and zoning regulations

CONNECTED, CARING & ACTIVE COMMUNITY

Fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and engaged community.

  • Improved mobility and safety: initiatives by the Circulation Committee and 15.2 km of road upgrades (19.5% of the network)
  • Support for seniors and youth: dedicated policies, committees, and welcoming gathering spaces
  • Updated and regularized leases with local organizations: Legion, Le Nichoir, Treehouse DayCare, HeartBeet Community Farm (Hudson Food Collective), and Saint-Thomas Church, ensuring clarity, fairness, and long-term stability
  • Adoption of the Parks & Green Spaces Master Plan: guiding the creation of inclusive, connected, and resilient spaces — including new pickleball courts and the potential for a multifunctional path along the EXO trainline between Hudson and Rigaud
  • Adoption of Hudson’s first Cultural Policy: developed with the Hudson Arts & Culture Council and Cultural Policy Committee
  • Community dialogue on Indigenous relations: territorial acknowledgements and reconciliation initiatives with knowledge keepers from the Mohawk communities of Kahnawà:ke and Kanehsatà:ke

REGIONAL INFLUENCE & HUDSON’S VOICE BEYOND BORDERS

Amplifying Hudson’s voice and impact regionally and at the metropolitan level.

  • Active participation on regional boards: housing, economy, and culture, contributing to concrete decisions affecting all 23 municipalities
  • Chairing the first metropolitan commission: guiding culture, heritage, and shared initiatives with tangible results for the 82 municipalities of Greater Montreal
  • Recovery of $158.5K from unfairly redistributed SQ surcharges, ensuring a fair and equitable contribution for services received in 2020

Serving you remains a cherished privilege.

Sincerely,

Chloe Hutchison, incumbent mayor
